Between conference sessions, take a moment to slow down and explore the surroundings of CTU. Whether you are looking for a peaceful walk in nature, a relaxing afternoon in a park or a beautiful view of Prague, there are plenty of places to discover nearby.
Here are four suggestions for taking a break from the conference programme and enjoying a different side of the city.
Prague Castle
Just a 30-minute walk from CTU, Prague Castle is one of the city's most iconic landmarks. The route takes you through the historic Dejvice and Hradčany districts, leading to the magnificent St. Vitus Cathedral and panoramic views of Prague.
The castle complex offers a wonderful combination of architecture, history and scenic viewpoints, making it an ideal destination for a short excursion between conference activities.
Divoká Šárka
If you are looking for a longer walk away from the bustle of the city, Divoká Šárka is a perfect choice. This extensive nature reserve offers rocky valleys, wooded trails and open landscapes, all within Prague.
From CTU, take a tram from Dejvická towards Dědina and get off at Divoká Šárka. From there, you can choose from a variety of walking routes and enjoy a refreshing escape into nature.
Stromovka
Located approximately 20 minutes on foot from CTU, Stromovka is one of Prague's largest and most popular parks. Its spacious lawns, tree-lined paths and peaceful ponds make it a favourite destination for walking, running, cycling and picnics.
Whether you prefer a leisurely stroll or simply want to find a quiet bench and enjoy a book, Stromovka is an ideal place to recharge.
Letná Park
Letná Park is approximately a 20-minute walk from CTU and offers some of the most memorable views of Prague. You can also reach it by tram, getting off at Sparta or Chotkovy sady.
Popular with runners, skaters and locals enjoying the outdoors, the park is particularly known for its panoramic views of the Vltava River and Prague's historic bridges.
For a remarkable viewpoint, head towards the Prague Metronome. This landmark stands on the site of a former Stalin monument, and the surrounding area is still commonly referred to by locals as Stalin.
