SEFI 2026 Submissions in Numbers
The SEFI 2026 Call for Papers attracted a remarkable response from the engineering education community. Here is a look back at the submissions, review process and accepted contributions behind the conference programme – including a phenomenon familiar to conference organisers everywhere: the deadline effect.
250 reviewers completed 976 reviews, making the selection of the SEFI 2026 programme possible. A huge thank you to all reviewers for contributing their time and expertise to the review process.
When did the submissions arrive?
Conference deadlines have a remarkable ability to focus the mind – and SEFI 2026 was no exception. Submission activity accelerated dramatically as the deadline approached.
292 submissions – 64% of all submissions received by 1 April – arrived during the final two days.
On 31 March alone, 95 submissions arrived, followed by another 197 on 1 April.
As every conference organiser knows, deadlines can be wonderfully motivating.
From submissions to the SEFI 2026 programme
Following the review and selection process, 407 contributions were accepted for SEFI 2026, forming the basis of a rich and diverse conference programme.
